Still I Rise
In the words of the legendary Maya Angelo, “You may write me down in history with your bitter twisted lies;
You may trod me I’m the very dirt, but still, like dust; I’ll RISE”
I say jokingly in conversations with my sisters now; “I know of poor people but I don’t know any one who lived in a tent for years”
But that’s how my story begun; with a system that was engineered to fail; against all odds, I am here today doing everything but accepting failure or defeat.
I began my journey in business 4 years ago, no connections; no visible opportunities, no financial support, nobody to guide and mentor me in business; nothing but my two hands; and my desire to be and do more.
Today, and I say this humbly; I am connected in every sector in Guyana. My clients are some of the most renowned organizations and business entities in the country. All The movers and shakers in this country know who Crystal Lam is. And I never had to undress for any of it; It was all hard work and legit hustle.
+ Yes, I was a teenage parent; yes, I am a single parent; yes; I was dirt poor; yes; I’ve made some poor choices; but,
DID ANY OF IT STOP ME? WILL ANY OF IT STOP ME? CERTAINLY NOT!!!
At every level of my existence I did the best that I knew how to at that time. I keep elevating; I keep learning and I keep growing
Understand this; the journey has only now begun; I’m far from finished….and not a boy; girl or anyone alive is going to stop me.
In conclusion; I don’t care how your story started, I don’t care what they expect of you; I don’t care what they say to you and I don’t care what they say about you; SUCCESS IS YOUR BIRTH RIGHT. Go after everything you want; with everything in you and don’t ever Stop.
