+ Curt “Ceejay” Johnson is a captivating musician and producer, who is passionate about music. His creative ability takes listeners through a musical journey whereby they are able to learn about his Guyanese roots and at the same time, experience great quality music.

The love for music which exists in Ceejay’s heart today came at an early age from him being a product of a family with a musical background.

Ceejay migrated to the US in 2002 and just like every other immigrant, his dreams was to live the American dream. That dream became a reality in 2013 when he recorded his first song as an artist called “Nah Badmind” which was the beginning of a success story.
The feedback that came from his first project enabled him to be noticed by top producers, including one of Jamaica’s best, Not Nice. Being on this musical icons radar didn’t just motivate Ceejay to grind harder, but it also gave him the opportunity to work with Not Nice Records on a number of different projects.

Ceejay has released dozens of hit singles since his first project back in 2013 and has worked with some of the most talented and respected producers within the music industry. One of his lifelong goals is to travel home to his birth country, Guyana, and establish a Guyanese branch of his record label Roll Out Records (ROR), which will be focusing on giving talented youths a chance to do music.

“Today Ceejay is one of the most talked about and known Guyanese musicians of his time. His consistency and humility has definitely played a major role in the success he has had so far in the music industry and this is only the beginning.”

He remains ready to work with any talented artiste that’s as passionate about music as he is.

Gyaff: Does your work comment on current social or political issues, and if so, how?

Ceejay: I do touch on political and social topics in my music and mostly on issues that impact society and our everyday living.

Gyaff: What kind of feedback have you received from the track with Carolina Rose?

Ceejay: The song with me and Carolina Rose has been getting a lot of positive feedback. I believe that Miss Rose brought a different vibe to the song and shocked a lot of fans by showing how great dancehall and Spanish music blends together. She is very talented and I very much appreciate her being on this track and I believe the fans also appreciate the song.
