In 2003 Ryan moved to New Jersey after a botched robbery almost claimed his life in Brooklyn. As a DJ he ruled the morning show airwaves in New Jersey with his morning show called Traffic Blocking.
After leaving Radio, he formed the group Reggae Diplomats and performed in some of New York and New Jersey’s night clubs. He later became the lead singer of The Black Pearl HipRoc band which toured internationally with their fusion of hip-hop and RocNRoll.
Talking with Gabriella Chapman Gucci disclosed that he is currently signed to York Records and his new ‘Don Link Jus Wun Entertainment’ label working to implement publishing in Guyana along with a new genre of music unique to Guyanese.
Gucci Boss is a Reggae performing artist who uses Kwe-Kwe (an African pre-wedding tradition) to inspire his brand and he is also one of Guyana’s Musical Ambassadors.
