Linden Hospital Complex – As Ms. Gloria Garraway proceeds on pre-retirement leave, we would like to thank her for her dedicated 43 years of service; 37 of which were spent serving the people of Region 10.

Ms. Garraway is retiring as the Superintendent of the Rehabilitation Department of the Linden Hospital Complex (LHC). The significant contribution that Ms. Gloria Garraway has made to the field of rehabilitation services in Guyana has earned her numerous awards during her years of service.

+ In 2019, she made many hearts proud as she received a National Award; a Medal of Service M.S.

She served as the President of the Guyana Physiotherapy Association and is the current secretary of the Linden Supporting Efforts for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (LINSEED).

 

 

THANK YOU FOR 43 YEARS OF SERVICE

+ On Friday July 24th, Ms. Gloria Garraway was pleasantly surprised by her colleagues and staff when they presented her with tokens and kind wishes as they bid her farewell.

Senior Physiotherapists Mrs. Barbara Lewis, Mrs. Beverly Nelson and Director of disability and Rehabilitation Services in Guyana Dr. Ariane Mangar visited the LHC rehab department to express their gratitude for the noteworthy work that Ms. Garraway has contributed which paved the way for the advancement of Rehabilitation Services in Region 10.

CEO of Linden Hospital Complex Mr. Rudolph Small give insights into some of the plans that are underway for the Rehabilitation department and expressed deep regret that Ms. Garraway would not be here to experience the upgrades.

Nonetheless, he welcomed Ms. Garraway to share her vision for the department with the aim of working along with the other representatives in the department to improve the quality of services that we offer to the people of the Region #10.

“I once thought of becoming a nun as I was in awe of them and loved to attend Mass in the chapel and felt my spiritual awakening there but I was a shy teenager who always wanted to help others in need and saw myself as being of service to others,” Garraway said of her youthful ambition.

Medical Superintendent Dr. Joseph London, expressed gratitude to Ms. Garraway while adding that her leadership skills instill confidence that the department is in good hands. He wished her best of luck as she enters into a new phase of her life.
